The mobile world really took flight in 2012. On the hardware side, we welcomed the release of several new devices including sleek, razor-sharp tablets and countless new phones. We also saw some major OS upgrades such as iOS 6 and Android 4.x along with new features for each. Throughout the year, Corona Labs worked hard to keep up with the rapid pace and evolve with new developments.

We end 2012 with a bigger, stronger team – and we’re continuing to grow! Our commitment to the developer community remains as strong as ever and we’re working with a team of fantastic Ambassadors to grow the Corona community across the world. On the technical front, we reached some major milestones, including the release of Corona Enterprise in August, giving developers the ability to mesh Corona SDK with native code. This also laid the groundwork for Project Gluon, Corona’s upcoming plugin system. The icing on the cake was December’s announcement of Corona Cloud, launching in early 2013, which offers a complete end-to-end development platform.

Beyond that, the Corona community continues to flourish. In 2012, the number of Corona developers almost doubled from 110,000 to 200,000. For this we are both amazed and humbled, because it’s this vibrant community which makes us proud of what we’ve all accomplished, together. From indie developers to big-name studios, Corona is fueled by passionate, hard-working people. 2013 promises to be even more exciting and we can’t wait to see what you produce.

Cheers to 2013 – a year of great opportunities!

If only you had a Military Ambassadors program :( …. None the less I love you guy. Y’all were so gracious to invite me into to your community and your office and I am grateful to you guys for that. I have become a better coder and left brain thinking soldier because of the ease of implementation of your SDK and the ability to create with CoronaSDK. I look forward to 2013 and all that you offer I’m sure you will not disappoint.
