A Very Kitten Christmas is an excellent holiday-themed children’s eBook for iPad created by DieHard Studio.

You might recognize DieHard’s name from the Corona Comics tutorial videos they contribute to our blog — well, their first eBook takes things another step forward with expertly rendered 3D graphics and animation. DieHard CEO Dwayne Ferguson’s secrets to creating top-notch eBooks on the iPad can be uncovered here.

Countdown to the New Year by the Astronaut 3 Media Group (A3MG) puts an NYE party kit into the palm of your hand!

Along with a traditional countdown clock, the app also includes a variety of noisemaker sounds you can tap to play. The countdown clock uses your device’s date/time to calculate the days, hours, minutes, and seconds left until New Year’s Day. Lastly, the clock resets on January 2 and starts counting down again, so you can use it next year!

Holidazed by reallyMedia is a wonderfully constructed side-scroller game designed to bring some frantic fun to the winding down holiday season.

As one of Santa’s loyal elves, you fell out of the sleigh on the way through the city. Jump from roof to roof to keep pace with the sleigh, but make sure you catch any gifts that fall out before someone’s Christmas morning is ruined. Be careful to avoid rooftop obstacles from decorations to chimneys!

iHandbells Choir by Andy Hullinger isa great app for anyone with a particular affinity for the musical aspect of the holidays!

iHandbells puts a professional handbell choir in the palm of your hand. The app gives you the notes, and you bring the rhythm. You can even gift the app to 3 of your pals and play together in four-part SATB (soprano, alto, tenor, and bass) harmony… Oh, and be sure to send us videos of your performances too! 😉

On the First of December is an eBook from Sentactio LLC that was also featured in Apple’s “New and Noteworthy” list for iPad books.

You and your children will enjoy the interactive pages of this heart warming Christmas story with amazing art, cute rhymes and beautiful holiday songs. Told in the most unique visual way, On the First of December is a story of a young boy’s journey through the month of December as he experiences the simple joys of Christmas.
