Building a better jump

Jumping is a very common thing for game characters and it’s not always straightforward to get it working exactly how you want it to. The Box2D physics engine simplifies a lot of the math for you, but sometimes you need to tune it even more. Jump into this thread to learn more!

Back to the future

Google has some interesting rules on how apps must be signed, with one of the most basic being that you can not release an app using a debug keystore. Making keystores on Windows isn’t a cut-and-paste operation and, if you’re not careful, you could end up making your app impossible to update. This thread discusses the problem of losing your keystore files.

Squishy physics

We’ve all seen the slow-motion video of a rubber ball dropping, watching its spherical shape warp into a squished ellipsoid upon contact. That’s the way real-world physics works. For efficiency, Corona’s Box2D-powered physics engine assumes rigid bodies, but what if you want objects to squish when they fall? Several Corona developers jumped into this thread with ideas.
