PKTBALL – the biggest small game Laser Dog has ever made

PKTBALL – the biggest small game Laser Dog has ever made

Repeatedly publishing hit titles that shoot up in the app store rankings is a skill that Rob Allison and Simon Renshaw from Laser Dog seem to have mastered. First Alone, to HoPiKo, and now PKTBALL, which they call “the biggest small game we’ve ever made.”

PKTBALL is based on the classic air hockey design pattern with a lot of focus on great graphics and great touch controls. But even a simple game can take on a life of its own and the Laser Dog duo has done big things with this little game, including multiplayer support, rewarded game play, and a natural interaction model that just feels right.

As a special treat, Rob also blogged about what it took to make PKTBALL into an engaging game. Head on over to the Laser Dog devlog to learn how the idea came about, how the project was divided between design and development, and why they decided to make a game within a game to give out player rewards.

PKTBALL is already featured as an Editors’ Choice pick in the Apple App Store which should inspire us all as app developers.

    I love your game 🙂
    Also love your credits secret.
Ps you guy should add multiplayer for two devices. I was trying to do it in a bus, but it was just uncomfortable.
